It was hard for us to leave “our” camp site but a few days earlier I received a phone call from Max, a friend from IBK, who was also in Norway at that time. We decided to meet up with him in Odda and do the hike up Trolltunga, one of the most famous and touristy sites in Norway.

Fue difícil para nosotros dejar “nuestro” campamento, pero unos días antes, recibí una llamada telefónica de Max, un amigo de IBK, que también estaba en Noruega en ese momento. Decidimos encontrarnos con él en Odda y hacer la caminata hasta Trolltunga, uno de los sitios más famosos y turísticos de Noruega.

The problem was, that the weather really sucked and moreover, we did not want to spend hours with hordes of tourists all walking into the same direction for 35 kilometers. Although it was a tough decision, we cancelled the longer hike and made a short journey into the nearby forest, and then continued our journey to the south to an equally beautiful overlook of the Preikestolen aka “Pulpit Rock” overlooking Lysefjorden.

El problema era que el clima realmente apestaba y, además, no queríamos pasar horas con hordas de turistas caminando en la misma dirección durante 35 kilómetros. Aunque fue una decisión difícil, cancelamos la caminata hice una corta caminata por el bosque cercano, entonces y continuamos nuestro viaje hacia el sur a una vista igualmente hermosa del Preikestolen, también conocido como "Pulpit Rock", con vista al fiordo Lysefjorden.

In the evening, we ended up in a parking lot next to a huge cross-country skiing center, pre- pared heavenly “Erdäpfelgröstl”, drank tea with rum and enjoyed both of it next to a tiny little bonfire.

Por la noche, terminamos en un estacionamiento junto a un enorme centro de esquí de fondo, preparamos el celestial “Erdäpfelgröstl”, bebimos té con ron y disfrutamos de ambos junto a una pequeña hoguera.

On the next day, we continued our drive through an amazing countryside and passed an uncountable number impressive-looking lakes and waterfalls. When we arrived at the starting point for the tour to Preikestolen, the weather was still bad, nevertheless we felt confident to do the hike early next morning before all the tourists would start.

Al día siguiente, continuamos nuestro viaje a través de un campo increíble y pasamos un número incontable de lagos y cascadas de aspecto impresionante. Cuando llegamos al punto de partida de la excursión a Preikestolen, el tiempo seguía siendo malo, sin embargo, estábamos seguros de hacer la caminata temprano a la mañana siguiente antes de que todos los turistas comenzaran.

We woke up early next morning just to realize that it was still raining. Equipped with rain jackets and ponchos, we did the hike and our perseverance was rewarded: the view from the top of the cliff over Lysefjord was simply stunning, so we took a lot of pictures, drank some coffee that we brewed on the top and sat on the edge of the 600+ meter cliff.

Nos despertamos temprano a la mañana siguiente solo para darnos cuenta de que todavía estaba lloviendo. Equipados con chubasqueros y ponchos, hicimos la caminata y nuestra perseverancia fue recompensada: la vista desde lo alto del acantilado sobre Lysefjord era simplemente impresionante, así que tomamos muchas fotos, tomamos un café que preparamos en la cima y nos sentamos en el borde del acantilado de más de 600 metros. Y la mejor parte fue que teníamos todo el acantilado para nosotros.

And the best part was that we had the whole cliff for ourselves. Instead we passed an endless line of tourists on our way back, which left us with a feeling of deep satisfaction.

En cambio, pasamos por una fila interminable de turistas en nuestro camino de regreso, lo que nos dejó con una sensación de profunda satisfacción.
